The first episode of the new season of Bungo Stray Dogs premiered on July 12th, and it seamlessly picked up where Season 4 left off, diving right back into the action-packed world of gifted individuals and their extraordinary powers.

The inaugural episode delivered an intense climax, leaving viewers in shock as Ranpo, found himself arrested. His complete savagery in proving the innocence of the Armed Detective Agency and asking the police to rethink their actions and look at the case rationally led to these circumstances.

In the opening scene, Kunikida, badly injured, finds himself in a prison hospital and watches a news report about terrorist attacks involving counterfeit coins from the Sky Casino. Jono from the Hunting Dogs visits him, pressuring Kunikida for information on the Armed Detective Agency's involvement, but Kunikida maintains their innocence. Jono offers Kunikida a chance to join the Hunting Dogs and take down the Agency, but Kunikida refuses.

Meanwhile, Atsushi reveals that Sigma's special ability has helped them locate the notebook page they were searching for, which is in the possession of Kamui, the leader of the Decay of Angels. A sniper shoots the electronic lock on Kunikida's cell, and Kamui arrives to break him out, intending to kidnap and assassinate him. However, disguised as a member of the Decay of Angels, Ranpo appears and kidnaps Fukuzawa, revealing that it was a ploy to save him and the rest of the Armed Detective Agency.

Ranpo explains how he devised an elaborate plan to outsmart Kamui and save everyone. Later, during a press conference, Ranpo shocks the reporters by revealing evidence of the Agency's innocence and the existence of the reality-altering notebook page. He ensures that the evidence is sent to major law enforcement agencies. The episode concludes with Ranpo's arrest, urging the police to approach the case rationally and discover the truth behind his involvement.
