In Episode 2 of Bungo Stray Dogs season 5 titled ‘The Answer to Everything,’ Officer Minoura saves Ranpo from being captured. They face off against guards, while Ranpo and Minoura escape. The Armed Detective Agency reunites, discussing their strengths. The United Nations asks Fukuchi to lead a counter-terror organization against the agency.

Fukuchi agrees only if they change their views. He convinces the UN to form the Army of Mankind to fight Decay of the Angel. Ranpo asks Fukuchi for help in retrieving a reality-altering page from Kamui. After initial doubt, Fukuchi agrees.

They plan to leave on a ship, but Ranpo suspects Fukuchi is Kamui. Ranpo ignites a smoke flare and escapes, leaving Atsushi to face Fukuchi, who reveals he is Kamui. Atsushi realizes his fear of being alone and asks for help. Akutagawa appears on the ship.
