Episode 8 of Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc put major emphasis on the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito. Even though the episode did not feature Tanjiro, Nezuko, Genya, or Mitsuri Kanroji, it can still be regarded as the best episode of this season yet.
As Muichiro regains his memories, he remembers how he took the path to become a Demon Slayer and gains back his strength to exorcise Upper Moon 5. We can already sense a breathtaking battle that is yet to come between the two.
Did Muichiro Awaken His Demon Slayer Mark?

Muichiro wakes from Gyokko's Water Prison Pot feeling weak, numb, and worn out and ready to witness the Demons about to slaughter Kotetsu. His life passes before him as he remembers everything that has happened to get him to where he is now.
With no apparent way to move and save him, he suddenly experiences a transformation as a result of the trauma and memories that give him a previously unrealized level of power activating his Demon Slayer Mark and a fresh approach to fighting the Upper Five.
Muichiro's Abilities After Awakening His Demon Slayer Mark

The sudden awakening of his Demon Slayer mark made him regain his strength. Even though he was not in such shape to fight any further, he saw some fish that were summoned by Gyokko, ready to attack Kotetsu.
The sudden awakening of his Demon Slayer mark made him regain his strength. Within a split second, all the fish were slashed at the hands of Muichiro, and Kotetsu was saved. However, Kotetsu asked Muichiro to not worry about him and save Hanagezuka.
Gyokko, who was totally focused on breaking Hanagezuka's determination, felt an uncanny presence over his shoulders, which was from Muichiro's sword. Gyokko however dodged the attack and faced Muichiro.
Gyokko notices the new marks on Muichiro's face and appreciates the boost in his speed. He also remembered what Muzan told him about a guy with Hanafuda Earings having the same marks, clearly talking about Tanjiro. Gyokko unleashed another formidable attack known as Octopus Vase Hell that expanded all over the place.
Further, the fight intensified as Muichiro dodged Gyokko's attacks and made use of his newly found motivation, the Demon Slayer Mark. Despite Gyokko's fierce attacks, Muichiro slashed through all of them in an instant with his Fifth Form: Sea of Clouds and Haze. Gyokko realized that it was not going to be as easy as fighting Muichiro previously. Awakening his Demon Slayer Mark, Muichiro really proved why he was regarded as one of the strongest Hashiras in the Demon Slayer Corps.
