The Shibuya Incident Arc played a significant role in the story of Jujutsu Kaisen, and it is undoubtedly one of the best arcs in the series as well as the history of anime. However, it marked the sealing of Gojo for a long time.

Prison Realm In Jujutsu Kaisen Explained

An incredible barrier with the unmatched capacity to enclose any entity or object within an impenetrable pocket dimension is found in The Prison Realm, a Cursed artifact of outstanding quality. This powerful artifact is none other than the lingering essence of the revered Buddhist monk Genshin, making it a prohibited item.

The Prison Realm's strength defies all boundaries as it is infused into a living barrier, making it capable of imprisoning anything without exception. There are a total of 4 steps used for the sealing of anything within the Prison Realm.

Once the Prison Realm successfully ensnares its target, the authority to unlock its confinements resides solely with the possessor of the front gate. That said, within the intricate mechanics of the Prison Realm, there exists a crucial component known as the back gate, which also serves as the key to liberating any entity sealed within, but the condition is that the liberator must possess either Inverted Spear of Heaven or the Black Rope, the instruments that could nullify other Cursed Techniques.

Steps To Use The Prison Realm

The first step involves placing the Prison Realm in front of the target. The object then opens with a flesh-like skin and 4 corners stretched out. The next step involves ensnaring the person and cutting off access to their Cursed Energy.

Hence, the sealing is completed with the command 'gate close,' after which Prison Realm comes back to its original form, which is an easily handled cube. There are requirements that must be met before the Prison Realm can be activated.

They must stay restricted inside a four-meter radius for an extended period of time, allowing the Cursed Object to act on them in order to successfully seal the desired target. To seal someone in the Prison Realm, the target is to be kept within the boundaries of the Prison Realm for exactly one minute. Satoru Gojo was a person who might have escaped the Prison Realm, but shocked by the sudden appearance of Pseudo-Geto, Gojo passed one-minute processing what he just saw.

The Significance Of Prison Realm In Jujutsu Kaisen

The Prison Realm was at the center of Pseudo-Geto's plan to paralyze Satoru Gojo during the Shibuya Incident. Pseudo-Geto expertly coerced Mahito, along with a handful of highly Cursed Spirits, into cooperating after realizing the futility of trying to directly defeat the most powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer.

They all wanted to work together to carry out Pseudo-Geto's scheme, which involved locking Satoru Gojo inside the Prison Realm and getting Ryomen Sukuna to become their ally. On October 31st, the scheme was carried out in Shibuya.

They had to use non-sorcerers to restrain Gojo's abilities that he might have used to save himself. Together, Mahito, Jogo, Hanami, and Choso bought Geto enough time to make their plan a success.
