Yushiro was the sharp-tongued Demon with a heart of gold who played a huge role in the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Arc. While Tanjiro and the Hashira battled flashy villains like Muzan and Kokushibo, Yushiro worked behind the scenes to tip the scales in their favor.
Â
As Tamayo’s loyal assistant, Yushiro wasn’t just a sidekick. His Blood Demon Art, quick thinking, and hatred for Muzan made him a game-changer. He didn’t have a Nichirin blade or a fancy Breathing Style, but he had tricks up his sleeve that even the Hashira needed. And the role Yushiro played in the Infinity Castle was crucial for Muzan's defeat.

Sabotaging Nakime’s Control Of The CastleÂ

The Infinity Castle was a shifting maze controlled by Upper Rank Four Demon Nakime. Her ability to manipulate rooms made her a logistical nightmare for the Demon Slayers. But Yushiro, using his visual manipulation techniques and talismans, disrupted her control. He didn’t just see through her illusions; he tampered with her perception and temporarily hijacked her movements.
During the fight, Yushiro teamed up with Mitsuri and Obanai, masking their presence and confusing Nakime. When Muzan tried to command her directly, Yushiro fought him for control, stalling for time. In the end, Muzan was so frustrated that he killed Nakime himself, which backfired. Without her powers, the castle collapsed and left him vulnerable to sunlight.

Saving Lives Mid-BattleÂ

Yushiro was more than just a strategist. After Zenitsu defeated Kaigaku in the Infinity Castle, both began to fall. Yushiro intervened, saving Zenitsu from the fall. He even mocked Kaigaku, stating, "Someone who never gives to others will someday become unable to receive anything from them. Only wanting is, in the end, the same as having nothing... because one is unable to create anything. Such a pity to die alone," highlighting the loneliness of Kaigaku's demise.
Beyond combat, Yushiro provided crucial medical support. When Muzan poisoned Tanjiro and stopped his heart, Yushiro used Tamayo’s antidote to revive him, enabling Tanjiro to continue the fight against Muzan. Additionally, Yushiro distributed healing vials to the Hashira, demonstrating the effective collaboration between Demons and Demon Slayers.
Using Tamayo’s Research To Weaken Muzan

Tamayo’s years of research on Muzan’s blood culminated in a poison that slowed his regeneration. Yushiro helped distribute this drug during the battle, ensuring Muzan couldn’t heal as fast. Without this, the Hashira’s attacks would’ve been useless against the Demon King’s insane recovery speed.
He also used Tamayo’s notes to create concealment talismans, letting Demon Slayers like Zenitsu and Inosuke sneak up on Muzan undetected. These talismans were key to ambushing the Demon King, who otherwise could’ve dodged every strike.Â

Keeping Tamayo’s Legacy Alive

Yushiro's devotion to Tamayo was the driving force behind his actions. Upon sensing her death at the hands of Muzan, he was overwhelmed with grief and rage, vowing to erase Muzan's existence from the world. Following the battle, Yushiro honored Tamayo's memory by dedicating his life to painting her portraits. Operating under the alias "Yushiro Yamamoto," he became a renowned artist, carrying out her legacy.
While others fought out of duty or revenge, Yushiro's motivation stemmed from love and loyalty. Yushiro's love humanized him, proving that Demons aren’t all monsters; some just need a reason to care.Â
Final Verdict: Yushiro Had A Big Role In Defeating The Demons In The Infinity Castle

Yushiro didn’t land the final blow on Muzan, but he had a big role in defeating the Demons in Infinity Castle. Without him, the Slayers would’ve been toast. He disrupted Nakime’s traps, saved allies from certain death, and delivered Tamayo’s life-saving research.
Â
Yushiro was the Demon-hero the series needed. He proved that you don’t need super strength or a sword to change the world; just cleverness and loyalty are enough.
