10 Strongest Characters In Solo Leveling, Ranked

Strongest characters in Solo Leveling ranked

After diving into the world of Solo Leveling, you might wonder, who are the strongest characters in Solo Leveling? The manhwa, and now anime, is packed with insanely powerful beings, with some literally gods, and some humans, with god-like powers. But who stands at the very top? Who could crush mountains, destroy armies, or rewrite reality itself?

Today, we’re ranking the top 10 strongest characters in Solo Leveling, based on their powers, achievements, and impact on the story. Their name on the list simply means they are the ones who make the universe of Solo Leveling one of the strongest in the world of anime.

10/10 Yogumunt (Monarch of Transfiguration)

Yogumunt in Solo Leveling manhwa

Yogumunt is the weirdest Monarch. He can transform into anything, copy powers, and even mess with biology. He’s like a shapeshifting horror movie villain with no real form. He first showed up during the Monarchs’ meeting in the later part of the series, and quickly stood out for how bizarre and unpredictable he was.

So why is he ranked last? Because while his powers are scary, he doesn’t have the raw strength the others do. Fighting him would be a mental nightmare, but in a straight-up brawl, he’s outclassed. Still, his adaptability makes him a serious wild card.

9/10 Legia (Monarch of the Beginning)

Monarch of the Beginning in Solo Leveing

Legia didn’t get much action in the story, but here’s the thing: he was so dangerous that the Rulers locked him away in a dimensional prison. That alone should tell you how strong he might have been if he had gotten free.

Sometimes the scariest characters are the ones we never fully see in battle. Legia’s status as a Monarch and the fear he inspired still earn him a place among the top 10 strongest in Solo Leveling.

8/10 Baran (Monarch of White Flames)

Baran fighting in manhwa

Baran is the first major Monarch Jin-Woo fights. He ruled the 100th floor of the Demon Castle and gave Jin-Woo one of his toughest early fights. Baran controlled lightning and fire and was brutal in combat. Plus, he was a Monarch, which already puts him in the big leagues.

Defeating Baran was a turning point for Jin-Woo, proving he could take down top-tier enemies. Baran’s power, presence, and terrifying attacks make him worthy of this list of Solo Leveling's strongest characters.

7/10 Bellion

Bellion Solo Leveling

Meet Bellion - the commander of the Shadow Army. He’s the strongest Shadow Soldier, even stronger than Beru and Igris. Bellion used to serve Ashborn, the original Shadow Monarch, and later pledged loyalty to Jin-Woo. With his tall, armored body, and massive wings, he looks like a true final boss. And trust us, he fights like one too.

He uses a massive centipede-shaped sword that’s unlike anything we’ve seen, and his swordsmanship is on another level. Bellion’s calm attitude, leadership skills, and crazy power easily place him among the strongest characters in Solo Leveling. He may not speak much, but when he shows up, you know things are about to get serious.

6/10 Sung Il-Hwan

Jinwoo's father Sung Il-Hwan

Jinwoo’s dad isn’t just cool, he’s seriously powerful. After disappearing inside a dungeon for years, he came back as a vessel for one of the Rulers. That gave him insane speed, strength, and the ability to control spiritual energy. Turns out Jin-Woo got it from his dad.

Il-Hwan fought fiercely against the Monarchs. He took on the Monarch of Frost and actually defeated him, which was a huge win. Later, he helped hold off Antares during an intense moment, buying time for Jin-Woo. He may not be the strongest in the series, but his impact was huge, and honestly, he deserved more screen time.

5/10 The Rulers

Strongest characters in Solo Leveling The Rulers

These guys were created to keep balance in the world and stop the Monarchs from going wild. Each Ruler is insanely strong, with powers like light manipulation, spiritual energy, and god-level strength. They’ve been around forever, and they’ve been fighting the Monarchs for just as long - like an endless war between light and darkness.

Even though we didn’t get to see each of them up close, their support for Jin-Woo and the way they held their ground against the Monarchs showed how powerful they truly are. As a group, they’re a powerful force and easily deserve their spot among the top 10 strongest characters in Solo Leveling.

4/10 The Absolute Being

The Absolute Being from Solo Leveling

This mysterious god-like figure created both the Rulers and the Monarchs. While we didn’t see him in action much, just the fact that he made the strongest beings in the series says everything. He was more focused on balance than battles, though.

Why is he ranked below Jinwoo and Ashborn? Because he’s dead (oops). Still, The Absolute Being is technically the root of all power in the Solo Leveling world. He might not have flashy fights, but he’s a major reason all the chaos started. That counts for something, right?

3/10 Antares (Monarch of Destruction)

Monarch of Destruction Antares

With a title like "Monarch of Destruction," you know this guy isn’t here to play. Antares is basically the king of dragons and can burn entire cities with a single breath. He was one of the last major villains in the story and gave Jin-Woo one of his hardest fights.

His power is insane, and even the Rulers were scared of him. He fought Jinwoo at his peak and almost won. If not for Jinwoo's time-traveling trick, the world might have ended right there. If dragons scare you, Antares is your worst nightmare come to life.

2/10 Ashborn (Original Shadow Monarch)

Ashborn Sung Jinwoo

Before Jin-Woo, there was Ashborn, the original Shadow Monarch and the reason shadows obey Jinwoo. Once a Ruler, he betrayed them to become the strongest Monarch, feared even by Antares. His power was so immense that just his presence made other Monarchs hesitate to fight him.

Ashborn’s biggest role? Passing his powers to Jin-Woo. But before that, he crushed Monarchs like Baran effortlessly. He fought in the ancient war between Rulers and Monarchs, proving his strength time and again. Imagine being so strong that your successor becomes the strongest being in existence - that’s Ashborn for you.

1/10 Sung Jinwoo (Shadow Monarch)

Sung Jinwoo with glowing eyes

If you’ve read Solo Leveling, you already know that Jinwoo is the absolute king of power scaling. Starting as the weakest E-Rank hunter, he becomes the Shadow Monarch, controlling an army of shadows, regenerating from death, and even bending space and time. His final battle against Antares? One of the most epic fights in manhwa history.

What makes Jinwoo the strongest character in Solo Leveling? Simple - he never stops growing. From defeating Igris in the Demon Castle to soloing the Monarchs, his power progression is insane. His Shadow Soldiers are terrifying on their own, but Jinwoo himself? A literal one-man apocalypse. He even resets time to save humanity - he's that powerful.
